Kellie 2 Kellie 4 Jennifer Jennifer 1Though she was never crowned in the form of an "American Idol" the title, Kellie Pickler was one among the show's most successful alumni. Born Kellie Dawn Pickler on the 28th of June 1986, at Stanly Memorial Hospital in Albemarle to Cynthia Morton and Clyde Raymond Pickler. At the time of her pregnancy, her mother was at the age of 16. Pickler had a difficult childhood because of her drug and alcohol addictions, while her mother abandoned her at the age of 2. Morton returned to take her care for several years, but Pickler admitted that it was not as smooth. "I remember my mom with me being at the same table, when I told her that "I'd rather be dead than here with you. I would like God removed me.' She took out a knife set it down on top of the counter and told me, "Here, you do it." The fourth grade was when she learned this. Of course I never would take action, but it's done a lot of emotional scarring," she said. Pickler was given her grandparents by the court after she reached 12 years old. Morton failed to appear in the court hearing. Pickler was raised by her grandparents throughout her life, citing them as the primary influence on her life. On January 1, 2002, her grandmother Faye Pickler passed away from lung cancer. Her family was led by her grandfather. Pickler has graduated from North Stanly High School, located in New London (North Carolina).
